Router Bits, Bases, Jigs, and Add-Ons
Router accessories decide what a router can actually do. The motor stays the same, while the bit, base, collet, and guide change the cut. This collection gathers parts for handheld and table routing across Festool, Makita, Milwaukee, DeWALT, Bosch, Kreg, Woodpeckers, and Shaper. Top sellers include an OF 1400 dust hood, plunge bases for compact routers from Makita, Milwaukee, and DeWALT, Festool edging plates and support feet, and featherboards for router tables. Shop routers themselves in Routers / Shapers.

Router Bits
Router bits make up most of this category: straight, spiral, flush trim, round over, chamfer, rail and stile, and boring bits in 1/4-inch, 1/2-inch, and 8mm shanks. Festool carbide bits for edge banding sit beside Freud profiles. See Festool router bits for the metric line.
Router Bit Sets
Bit sets are the easiest way to start. Choose all-purpose sets from SKIL, Bosch, Timberline, and Freud, or task sets for plywood dados, round over and beading, chamfers, and tongue and groove joints.
Router Bases
Router bases add plunge, offset, and tilt options to a compact router, or replace a worn sub-base. Multi-base router kits are listed too. Festool owners can find OF and MFK add-ons in Festool router bases.
Collets
Router collets let one router run several shank sizes. Options span Festool metric and imperial collets, Makita and Bosch replacements, self-releasing designs, and collets for Shaper Tools, Powermatic, and Jet shapers.
Template Guides
Template guides ride against a template so the bit copies its shape. Buy single Festool guides in metric and imperial sizes, or 8 and 9 piece sets from Bosch, Milwaukee, and Porter Cable.
Dust Collection
Router dust collection parts connect the router to an extractor: Festool hoods, Makita attachments, DeWALT compact router adapters, and Bosch hood kits. Festool chip catchers handle open edge profiles.
Dovetail Systems
Dovetail systems pair Porter Cable 12-inch dovetail jigs with dovetail bits from Freud, Festool, CMT, and Shaper Tools, plus a Milwaukee dovetail template guide assembly.
Router Jigs
Router jigs repeat a cut without layout. Woodpeckers Exact Width Dado Jigs and Radius Quick Jigs, Kreg hinge routing jigs, and hole boring jigs lead the range. See Woodpeckers router accessories for more.
Edge Guides and 32mm Cutters
Edge guides keep a router parallel to a board edge for grooves and rabbets. For European cabinets, the 32mm system collection holds hinge boring and door edge cutters.

Router Accessories FAQ
Will accessories from one router brand fit another?
Bits fit any router with a matching collet size. Bases, collets, dust hoods, and edge guides are usually made for specific router bodies, so check that your model is named. Template guides often need a brand-specific sub-base or adapter.
What should I buy first after a router?
Start with a small bit set in the shank size your collet takes, then add an edge guide for grooves and a dust collection adapter for your extractor. Add a plunge base or a table once your projects call for stopped cuts or small parts.
Do I need metric or imperial collets?
Match the collet to the bit shanks you own. Festool bits use 8mm shanks, while most North American bits use 1/4-inch or 1/2-inch. Many routers accept both with the right collet.
What do I need to set up a router table?
You need a table or saw wing extension, an insert plate or lift that fits your router, a fence with a dust port, and featherboards for control. A mid-size or full-size router with a 1/2-inch collet runs table bits best.
