Joiner Biscuits

Joiner Biscuits by Size and Type

Joiner biscuits are compressed wood wafers glued into slots cut by a biscuit joiner. They align panels, frames, and edge joints. DeWALT biscuits come in No. 0, No. 10, and No. 20 sizes in 75 to 150 counts. Lamello offers Original wood biscuits in No. 10, No. 20, and H-9 sizes, plus Fixo E20-H and E20-L self-clamping biscuits. A Porter Cable 4-in. 6-tooth replacement blade also lives here.

What to Look For

  • Size. Use No. 0 for narrow stock, No. 10 for mid-width, and No. 20 for wide panels and thicker boards.
  • Pack size. Buy larger tubes of the size you use most.
  • Self-clamping. Lamello Fixo biscuits are listed as self-clamping, for joints that are hard to clamp.
  • Blade. A dull blade cuts rough slots, so keep a spare.

Joiner Biscuits FAQ

Which biscuit size should I use?

Use the largest biscuit the stock can take without the slot showing on the face or end. No. 20 is common for 3/4-inch panels, No. 10 for narrower parts, and No. 0 for small frames.

Do brands of biscuits interchange?

Standard No. 0, No. 10, and No. 20 sizes fit slots cut by most biscuit joiners set to that size. Specialty sizes like H-9 need a matching cutter setting.
