Knipex Combination Pliers
Choosing Knipex Combination Pliers
Knipex combination pliers grip, bend, twist, and cut wire in one tool, which makes them the everyday pliers for electricians and maintenance techs. This collection covers standard combination pliers, high leverage combination pliers for easier cutting, and needle-nose combination pliers for confined areas. It also includes 1000V insulated and tethered versions, combination shears, and a 4-piece special pliers set with Cobra water pump pliers.
What to Look For
- Leverage. High leverage models move the pivot closer to the jaw, so cutting hard wire takes less hand force.
- Jaw shape. Needle-nose combination pliers reach into boxes and panels. Standard jaws grip round stock better.
- Insulation. Pick the 1000V insulated versions for work near live circuits.
- Length. Sizes in this collection run from 5-3/4 inch to 8 inch and longer. Shorter fits a pouch, longer adds leverage.

Knipex Combination Pliers FAQ
Combination pliers or lineman's pliers?
They do similar jobs. Combination pliers have a gripping zone for round stock plus a flat jaw tip and a cutter. Lineman's pliers have a heavier, square nose for twisting and pulling wire. Many electricians carry one of each.
What warranty covers Knipex pliers?
Knipex backs its pliers with a lifetime limited warranty against defects in material or workmanship for the original end-user purchaser. Claims require proof of purchase and an RGA from Knipex Tools LP, and shipping costs are not covered. Misuse, abuse, alteration and tools worn out by use are excluded.
