Knipex Pliers, Cutters, and Electrical Hand Tools
The Knipex lineup is built around pliers, then extends into the tools electricians and mechanics carry beside them. Cobra water pump pliers and the Knipex pliers wrench handle gripping and turning. Knipex cutters cover diagonal, end, and high leverage cutting. For panel and device work, 1000V insulated tools, strippers, and crimpers round out the range. Tool sets and storage pull it all together.

Cobra and Pliers Wrench
Cobra pliers grip pipe and round stock with toothed jaws. The pliers wrench uses smooth parallel jaws for nuts and fittings, in sizes from XS to XL. Many tool sets pair the two.
Knipex Cutters
Knipex cutters include diagonal cutters, carpenters' end cutting pliers, and high leverage models that cut hard wire with less hand force. Electrician's shears and cable shears handle insulated cable.
Insulated Hand Tools
The insulated line covers 1000V pliers, cutters, strippers, and screwdrivers for work near live parts. Several are also offered in tethered versions for work at height.
Strippers and Crimpers
Strippers run from forged 20-10 AWG models to automatic and coax strippers. Crimping pliers finish the connection on terminals and ferrules.
Combination Pliers
Combination pliers grip, bend, and cut in one tool. Choose standard, high leverage, or needle-nose versions, with insulated options for electrical work.
Screwdrivers and Storage
Knipex screwdrivers are mostly 1000V insulated, with Witte precision drivers alongside. Knipex storage adds tool rolls, belt pouches, cases, and tethering gear.

Knipex Tools FAQ
Cobra pliers or pliers wrench?
Cobra pliers have toothed jaws that bite into pipe, round stock, and damaged fasteners. The pliers wrench has smooth parallel jaws that hold hex nuts and polished fittings without marring them. Plumbers and mechanics often carry both, which is why so many Knipex sets include one of each.
Do I need insulated Knipex tools?
If you work on or near energized electrical parts, yes. The 1000V insulated tools add protection when a circuit cannot be shut off. For general mechanical and shop work, the standard versions are lighter and less expensive.
What should I buy first?
Start with a mid-size Cobra, a pliers wrench, and a pair of diagonal cutters. Electricians should add a forged stripper and combination pliers. The Knipex best sellers show what other buyers start with.
What warranty does Knipex offer?
Knipex backs its tools with a lifetime limited warranty against defects in material or workmanship for the original end-user purchaser. Claims require proof of purchase and an RGA from Knipex Tools LP, and shipping costs are excluded. Select Knipex bags carry a separate 1-year warranty that requires registration within 60 days. Misuse, abuse, alteration, and tools worn out by use are not covered.
