Makita Recip Saws

Makita Recipro Saws for Demolition, Pruning, and Pipe

Makita recipro saws handle demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, and pruning. The 18V LXT line runs from the one-handed XRJ08Z and sub-compact XRJ07ZB to the full-size XRJ04Z and brushless XRJ05Z. The 36V (18V X2) XRJ06Z uses two LXT packs for heavy cutting. On 40V max XGT, the GRJ01 and GRJ02 AVT orbital saws lead, and the GRJ03Z is a pipe saw with a chain vise. The RJ03 is the 12V max CXT option. Corded choices include the JR3051T and JR3070CT AVT saws and the JR3070CTH pallet saw.

What to Look For

  • Size. One-handed and sub-compact saws suit overhead and light cutting. Full-size saws suit demolition.
  • AVT. Anti-vibration technology on AVT models reduces fatigue on long cuts.
  • Orbital action. Orbital models cut wood faster. Turn it off for metal.
  • Special purpose. The pipe saw and pallet saw are built for those jobs.

Makita Recip Saws FAQ

Which Makita recipro saw is best for heavy demolition?

Look at the 36V XRJ06Z, the 40V max XGT GRJ01 and GRJ02, or the corded JR3070CT. They are the full-power options, and the AVT models cut down on vibration during long demo days.

What warranty do Makita recipro saws have?

Cordless lithium-ion recipro saws carry Makita's 3-year limited warranty, along with Makita batteries and chargers. Corded models fall under the 1-year limited warranty for most other Makita products. Accessories such as blades are excluded.
