Pneumatic Impact Wrenches
Pneumatic Impact Wrenches by Drive Size
Pneumatic impact wrenches remove and install lug nuts, suspension bolts, and heavy equipment fasteners using compressed air. Every wrench in this collection is a Jet air tool. Drive sizes run from 3/8" through 1/2" and 3/4" to 1". Options include compact 3/8" and 1/2" bodies, a 3/8" butterfly wrench for tight engine bays, a 1/2" right angle model, and versions with a built-in 2" or 6" anvil extension for recessed fasteners.
What to Look For
- Drive size. 3/8" suits small engine and interior work, 1/2" covers most automotive jobs, and 3/4" and 1" wrenches handle trucks and equipment.
- Body style. Pistol grip wrenches deliver the most force. Butterfly and right angle heads fit where a pistol grip cannot.
- Extended anvil. The JAT-122 and JAT-202 add 2" and 6" extensions to reach deep-set nuts on wheels and frames.
- Compressor match. Larger drive wrenches draw more air. Confirm your compressor and hose can keep up before you choose a 1" model.

Pneumatic Impact Wrenches FAQ
Do I need impact sockets with an air impact wrench?
Yes. Use impact-rated sockets sized to the wrench drive. Standard chrome sockets are not built for impact loads and can crack. See our sockets for impact sets.
Air or cordless impact wrench?
Air wrenches are light for their output and run as long as the compressor keeps up, which suits a fixed shop bay. Cordless wrenches go anywhere, including roadside and field service. Many shops run air at the bench and cordless on the truck.
