Collection: Pneumatic Tools

Air Tools for Fabrication, Automotive, and Finish Carpentry

Pneumatic tools trade the battery for a hose. Without a battery pack, the tool body stays light and compact, there is nothing to recharge, and the motor can run through a full shift. This collection gathers the air tools we carry for metal shops, garages, and trim crews. Jet supplies the industrial side, from air grinders and impact wrenches to chipping hammers and rivet busters. The best sellers are finish nailers from Grex, Makita, DeWALT, and Bostitch.

Air Grinders

Jet pneumatic grinders include 1/4" die grinders in light, pro, and heavy-duty grades, extended and low speed versions, a 1/8" micro grinder, and angle grinders from 4" to 7". DeWALT adds die grinders and a cut-off tool. Stock up on grinder wheels to match.

Impact Wrenches and Ratchets

Jet air impact wrenches run from 3/8" to 1" drive, with butterfly, right angle, and extended anvil versions. Pair them with 3/8" or 1/2" air ratchets to run fasteners out fast once they break loose.

Air Drills and Screwdrivers

Pneumatic drills from Jet come in 3/8" and 1/2" reversible pistol grip models, an industrial 1/2" drill, a 3/8" angle drill, and 1/4" air screwdrivers at 800 and 1,800 RPM for repeat fastening.

Chipping and Air Hammers

Jet chipping hammers come in 2", 3", and 4" strokes with round or hex shanks and open or 4-bolt handles. For automotive and sheet metal work, the compact air hammers run 1-5/8" to 3-1/2" strokes.

Scaling, Flux, and Rivets

Jet needle scalers strip rust, paint, and weld scale, and the NS-25 attachment converts the F-25 tool. Flux chippers clean slag from welds. Rivet busters and a riveter handle rivet removal and installation.

Nailers and Staplers

Air nailers cover 23-gauge pin, 18-gauge brad, 15 and 16-gauge finish, and framing nailers, plus crown staplers. Grex leads the pin nailer lineup. Compare trim options in air tools.

Pneumatic Tools FAQ

What size compressor do I need for air tools?

Check the air consumption listed for each tool at its working pressure. Nailers use short bursts and run fine on small portable compressors. Grinders, drills, needle scalers, and large impact wrenches run continuously and need a compressor and tank that can keep up without long recovery pauses.

Round shank or hex shank chipping hammer?

The shank type must match your chisels. Jet offers most chipping hammer stroke lengths in both round and hex shank versions. If you already own chisels, buy the hammer that fits them. If you are starting fresh, pick the shank style your chisel supplier stocks in the shapes you need.

How do I keep air tools running?

Add air tool oil at the inlet unless the tool says it is oil-free, and drain water from the compressor tank daily. A filter, regulator, and the right fittings from air accessories keep moisture and debris out of the motor.

Pneumatic or cordless for metalworking?

Air tools are lighter for their output and do not need batteries, which suits a fixed shop with a compressor. Cordless grinders and impact wrenches go anywhere without a hose. Many shops run air at the bench and cordless in the field.
