Pneumatic Riveting Tools
Pneumatic Rivet Busters and Riveters
This collection covers both sides of rivet work: removing old rivets and setting new ones. Jet rivet busters come in 6", 8", and 11" lengths (JCT-2612, JCT-2611, and JCT-2610). They hammer through rivet heads and drive out shanks on trailers, truck frames, and structural steel. For installing blind rivets, the Jet JAT-920 pneumatic riveter pulls and breaks the mandrel with each squeeze, which is far faster than a hand riveter on production runs.
What to Look For
- Remove or install. Rivet busters cut and punch rivets out. The JAT-920 riveter sets blind rivets. Most shops that do repair work need both.
- Buster length. The 6" model is easier to control in tight frames. The 11" model gives more reach and leverage on heavy structural rivets.
- Rivet capacity. Check the riveter listing for the rivet diameters and materials it accepts before ordering rivets.
- Air supply. Rivet busters hit hard and draw steady air, so pair them with a compressor sized for continuous use.

Pneumatic Riveting Tools FAQ
What is a rivet buster used for?
A rivet buster is a long-stroke air hammer with a chisel or punch bit. It shears rivet heads and drives the remaining shank out of the hole. Truck, trailer, rail, and steel erection crews use them for teardown and repair.
Is a pneumatic riveter worth it over a hand riveter?
If you set more than a handful of rivets at a time, yes. An air riveter sets each rivet with a trigger pull and far less hand fatigue, which matters on trailer skins, ductwork, and assembly lines.
