Press & Expansion Tools

Press, Expansion, and Cordless Plumbing Tools

This collection centers on press and PEX expansion tools, along with other cordless plumbing tools. Milwaukee M12 FORCE LOGIC press tool kits work with IPS-P press jaws and 1/2" and 3/4" PEX crimp jaws, and M18 jaws are sold in 1/2", 3/4", and 1". For PEX-A, the M12 FUEL ProPEX Expander with RAPID SEAL head and the M12 ProPEX expansion tool kit cover 1/2" to 1" fittings. The collection also includes M12 copper tubing cutters, PVC shears, transfer pumps, and the TRAPSNAKE auger. DeWALT adds a tubing cutter, pipe deburring tool, and transfer pump.

What to Look For

  • Pipe and fitting system. Press tools join copper and IPS pipe with press fittings. ProPEX expanders join PEX-A with expansion rings.
  • Jaw match. Jaws are built for a specific tool. Check that each jaw lists your M12 or M18 press tool.
  • Size range. Pick jaws and expander heads that cover the pipe sizes you install most, typically 1/2" through 1".
  • Kit or tool only. Kits include batteries and often jaws. Tool-only fits an existing M12 or 20V MAX setup.

Press & Expansion Tools FAQ

Press tool or expansion tool?

It depends on the pipe. Copper and IPS pipe with press fittings need a press tool and matching jaws. PEX-A with ProPEX fittings needs an expansion tool. PEX crimp jaws let a press tool crimp PEX rings to F1807 and F2159 standards.

Do M12 and M18 press jaws interchange?

No. Jaws are built for a specific press tool platform. The jaws here list either the M12 FORCE LOGIC press tool or M18 in the title, so match the jaw to the tool you own.
