Building a Jobsite Safety Gear Kit

Safety gear is easiest to buy as a kit for each person on the crew. The top sellers here map to that list. For lungs, there are KN95 disposable masks in 5 and 20 packs and Milwaukee reusable 2-layer and 3-layer performance face masks. For ears, there are Milwaukee foam, flanged, and corded earplugs, plus Bluetooth earbuds from Milwaukee, Festool, and ISOtunes. For eyes, there are Milwaukee safety glasses with clear, magnified, gasketed, and mirrored lenses. Milwaukee PACKOUT first aid kits and a performance knee pad round out the kit.

What to Look For

  • Match the hazard. Dust calls for masks, loud tools for hearing protection, and flying debris for sealed glasses.
  • Fit. Masks come in S/M and L/XL. Earbuds and earplugs need a full seal to work.
  • Spares. Keep replacement ear plugs and disposable masks on hand so no one goes without.
  • First aid class. Class A kits suit small crews. Class B kits hold more supplies for larger sites.

Buy safety gear from The Tool Nut, an authorized dealer since 1994, with free shipping on most orders and rewards points redeemable on every brand we carry.

Safety Gear FAQ

Do KN95 masks protect against silica dust?

A KN95 mask filters fine particles, but cutting concrete, brick, or tile creates silica dust that often calls for a fitted respirator and dust extraction on the tool. Check the requirements for your task.

Can Bluetooth earbuds count as hearing protection?

Only models built and rated as hearing protection. The ISOtunes PRO 2.0 and Festool GHS 25 I are sold as hearing protection. Regular consumer earbuds are not.
