Sander Cartridge Rolls

Cartridge Rolls for Die Grinders

Cartridge rolls are tightly wound abrasive cylinders on a mandrel, used in die grinders to sand and deburr inside holes, fillets, and tight contours that a flat disc cannot reach. This collection is all DeWALT. Straight rolls and taper rolls come in 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch diameters and 1-inch, 1-1/2-inch, and 2-inch lengths, in grits from 40 to 240. The DeWALT DAMCX81501 mandrel holds the rolls.

What to Look For

  • Straight or taper. Straight rolls sand bores and flat inside walls. Taper rolls reach into corners and narrow slots.
  • Size. Pick a diameter that fits the hole or radius, then the longest length that clears the work.
  • Grit. Coarse 40 and 60 grit remove welds and burrs fast. 120 to 240 grit blends and finishes.
  • Mandrel. Rolls need a mandrel. Check the mandrel size against the roll before ordering.

Sander Cartridge Rolls FAQ

What tool runs cartridge rolls?

A die grinder with a collet that fits the mandrel shank. Run the grinder at a speed the roll and mandrel are rated for and keep the roll moving to avoid heat buildup.

Cartridge rolls or flap wheels?

Cartridge rolls fit smaller holes and tighter radii. Flap wheels cover more surface and suit larger openings and blending.
