What to Look For

  • Attachment match. Choose screws in the length range your Quik Drive attachment is built for. Decking, subfloor, drywall, roofing, and metal attachments each run their own screw lengths.
  • Material. Use composite screws for composite boards, wood screws for lumber, and wood-to-steel or self-drilling screws for steel framing.
  • Corrosion resistance. Quik Guard coating, Type 305 stainless, and Type 316 stainless step up in protection. Use 316 near salt water.
  • Drive bit. Match the Quik Drive bit to the screw recess: T25 6-lobe, #2 or #3 square, #2 Phillips, or 5/16 hex.
  • Color. Deck screws come in color codes such as Gray 01 or Tan 02 to blend with the board.

Quik Drive Collated Screws FAQ

Can I use loose screws in a Quik Drive?

No. Quik Drive attachments feed screws from a collated strip. Buy the collated version of the screw, usually marked with an S in the model number, such as DSVT212S.

Which bit do I need?

Use the Quik Drive bit that matches the screw head, listed in each title. Deck-Drive DSV and Strong-Drive WSV screws take a T25 6-lobe bit. Drywall screws take a #2 Phillips. Find bits in Simpson Quik Drive.
