Simpson Strong-Tie Screws

Simpson Strong-Tie Screws for Connectors, Decks, and Concrete

Simpson Strong-Tie screws are engineered for specific jobs, not general fastening. Strong-Drive SD connector screws in No. 9 and No. 10 x 1-1/2-inch fasten Simpson hangers, straps, and ties. The collection also carries Strong-Drive TF and TB wood-to-steel screws, XE exterior structural metal screws, SDWS timber screws, Titen Turbo concrete and masonry screws, and Type 316 stainless DWP wood, marine, and trim-head screws. Collated MTH underlayment and WSVF subfloor screws feed Quik Drive auto-feed tools, also listed here.

What to Look For

  • Substrate. Wood, wood-to-steel, light-gauge metal, and concrete each get a screw with a tip and thread built for that material.
  • Corrosion protection. Choose between mechanically galvanized, black phosphate, and Type 316 stainless. Stainless suits coastal and other high-corrosion exposures.
  • Connector use. Where a Simpson connector calls for screws, use the fastener its installation instructions list.
  • Loose or collated. Collated strips run in Quik Drive tools for fast, consistent driving on floors and decks.

Simpson Strong-Tie Screws FAQ

Can I use any screw with a Simpson connector?

No. Each connector lists the fasteners it was designed and load-rated with. SD connector screws are made for that purpose. A drywall or deck screw is not a substitute.

What do I need to drive collated screws?

Collated MTH and WSVF strips feed a Quik Drive system, such as the Quik Drive Project Pro tool. The MAA3G2 adapter fits Makita FS series screwdriver motors to the Quik Drive attachment.
