Torx Driver Bits

Torx Driver Bits for Drills, Impacts, and Hand Drivers

Torx bits drive star-recess screws found in decking, cabinets, and many construction screws. The six-lobe drive holds the bit well, so it resists cam-out under high torque. Festool supplies Centrotec Torx bits in 2-inch and 100 mm lengths and 25 mm Torx bits in 10-packs. Milwaukee offers SHOCKWAVE impact Torx bits in 2-, 3-1/2-, and 6-inch lengths in T10 through T25, plus a Torx security insert set. Wiha adds a Torx bit selector with a magnetic holder and TerminatorBlue impact bits, and Diablo offers a T25 2-pack.

What to Look For

  • Size. T20 and T25 cover most construction and deck screws. T10 and T15 suit smaller hardware.
  • Impact rating. Use impact-rated bits such as SHOCKWAVE or TerminatorBlue in impact drivers.
  • Chuck type. Centrotec bits fit Festool's Centrotec quick-change chuck.
  • Security. Tamper-resistant Torx screws need security bits with a center hole.

Torx Driver Bits FAQ

Why buy bits in multi-packs?

Bits are consumables. On decking and framing jobs a bit wears out quickly, so 5-packs and 10-packs keep a fresh tip on hand.

Are Torx and star bits the same?

Yes. Star is a common name for the Torx six-lobe drive. Torx Plus is a different profile and needs its own driver. See Torx / Star screwdrivers for hand drivers.
