Milwaukee Cordless Tools, PACKOUT Storage, and Hand Tools

Most Milwaukee power tools run on one of two battery systems: M18 for full-size tools and M12 for compact ones. FUEL models in both lines use brushless motors. Around those tools sits PACKOUT, a modular storage system of tool boxes, organizers, and crates that lock together. The lineup also covers hand tools, plumbing tools, test instruments, lighting, and outdoor equipment, so a crew can stay on one brand from the truck to the job.

Milwaukee M18

The M18 system powers full-size drills, saws, grinders, and job site gear. Popular picks include the M18 FUEL compact router and the M18 compact tire inflator. Every tool runs on the same M18 REDLITHIUM batteries, so one set of packs covers the whole kit.

Milwaukee M12

M12 tools are built for tight spaces and overhead work. The range includes a 23-gauge pin nailer, the M12 FUEL right angle die grinder, the HATCHET 6-inch pruning saw, a 3-inch cut off tool, and multi-tool combo kits. Stock up on M12 batteries to keep them running.

Milwaukee PACKOUT

PACKOUT pieces stack and lock into one rolling unit. Choose from large and compact tool boxes, 2-drawer and 3-drawer boxes, crates, and a dolly cart. PACKOUT organizers in standard, deep, compact, and low-profile sizes hold bits and fasteners.

Drills and Drivers

Milwaukee drills cover drill drivers for general holes and screws, impact drivers for long fasteners, and hammer drills for masonry. Tool-only versions let you add a body to the batteries you already own.

Saws and Cutting Tools

Milwaukee saws include circular, reciprocating, miter, track, and pruning saws on both battery platforms. For drywall, tile, and trim cuts, see cut-out tools and the compact cut off tools in the M12 line.

Hand Tools and Plumbing

Milwaukee hand tools cover pliers, screwdrivers, knives, levels, and wrenches. Plumbing tools add drain cleaning, press, expansion, and pipe cutting tools for service and rough-in work.

Milwaukee Power Tools FAQ

Should I choose Milwaukee M12 or M18?

Pick M12 if you work in cabinets, ceilings, or vehicles and want light, compact tools. Pick M18 if you need full-size power for framing, cutting, grinding, or outdoor work. Many trades run both, using M12 for install and service and M18 for heavy tasks.

Do M12 and M18 batteries interchange?

No. M12 batteries fit only M12 tools, and M18 batteries fit only M18 tools. MX FUEL is a separate system for heavy equipment. Some Milwaukee chargers accept both M12 and M18 packs, which helps if you own tools on both platforms. See batteries and chargers.

What warranty does Milwaukee offer?

Most Milwaukee power tools, including M18 and M12 tools, carry a 5-year limited warranty. Most M18 and M12 REDLITHIUM battery packs carry 3 years, and hand tools carry a limited lifetime warranty. Outdoor power equipment carries 3 years and MX FUEL carries 2 years. Registration is not required. Some products carry shorter terms, and coverage applies to the original purchaser from an authorized distributor.

What should I buy first?

A Milwaukee combo kit is the usual starting point. It bundles two or more tools with batteries and a charger. After that, buy tool-only models to grow the kit on the same platform.
