The Black & Decker GH3000 High Performance 7.5A 14 in. Electric String Trimmer/Edger is built for homeowners who want corded power, clean edging, and straightforward operation without stepping up to a gas machine. This is a string trimmer and lawn edger designed for trimming grass, knocking down weeds, and cleaning up edges along sidewalks and driveways. Model Number GH3000. If you want a plug-in yard tool that starts instantly and keeps working as long as you have extension cord reach, this one makes sense.

On the job, the numbers are right where they need to be for routine property maintenance. The 7.5 amp motor and gear drive transmission are there for tougher grass and overgrowth, while the 14 inch cutting swath helps you cover more ground with each pass. It has a top speed of 7,500 RPM, which helps explain why this unit is positioned as Black & Decker's higher-performing corded weed trimmer in this size class. The single 0.080 inch line is a common, easy-to-source size that balances cutting performance with manageable line use.

One of the real selling points here is how the GH3000 handles the switch from trimming to edging. The Groom N' Edge quick latch setup lets you move from open-area trimming to vertical edge work without wasting time. Black & Decker also adds a wheeled edge guide, which matters more than it sounds. When you're running along a sidewalk or driveway, that wheel helps keep the head tracking the line instead of wandering, so your edge looks cleaner and you do not chew up as much line.

For day-to-day use, this trimmer is aimed at comfort more than brute-force landscaping. The curved shaft, adjustable height, and pivoting handle make it easier to set the tool up for your stance instead of forcing you to work around the tool. At 6.9 pounds, it stays light enough for most homeowners to use for regular cleanup without the arm fatigue that shows up fast on heavier outdoor power equipment. The corded setup also means no fuel mixing, no carburetor issues, and no waiting on charging.

The Automatic Feed Spool system is another practical feature that helps this tool stay homeowner-friendly. Instead of bump feeding, the AFS system advances line as needed, so you can stay focused on your cut path rather than stopping to fuss with the spool. That is especially helpful when you are moving between grass density changes or trimming around landscape beds, fences, and hardscape where line wear picks up.

As an outdoor power tool, the Black & Decker GH3000 High Performance 7.5A 14 in. Electric String Trimmer/Edger is a good fit for homeowners, DIY yard care, and routine lawn maintenance around small to mid-size properties. It is best for grass trimming, border cleanup, and regular edging work, not clearing heavy brush like a dedicated brush cutter. If your priority is easy startup, steady corded runtime, and a clean lawn edge without spending much time learning the tool, this model earns its keep.
