The Klein Tools Hard Hat, Non-Vented, Full Brim Style, Gray (60863BR) is a full brim safety hard hat built for comfort over a full shift. This is a hard hat designed for head protection on construction, industrial and utility jobsites, with a gray PC/ABS shell, a full brim for sun and rain coverage, and a 6-point suspension that fits hat sizes 6-1/2 to 8.
This hard hat is rated Class E, Type 1 and tested to 20 kV. Class E is the electrical class, which is why the shell is non-vented: no openings that could compromise its dielectric protection. Type 1 covers impact to the top of the head, and Klein also tests to EN12492 for front, back and side impact.
Klein certifies it to a long list of standards: ANSI Z89.1-2014 (high and low temperature), CSA Z94.1-15, EN397:2012+A1:2012 lateral deformation, and EN12492:2012 front, back and side impact. That breadth matters for crews working across the US and Canada or on sites that spec European standards.

The suspension uses a flexible open-frame design for a better fit and improved air circulation, and a large ratchet knob makes one-handed adjustment easy even with gloves on. The soft neck pad pivots to clear bandanna knots and ponytails. The padded sweatband and top pad are breathable, sweat-wicking, odor resistant and machine washable.
The hard hat weighs 17.6 oz (499 g) and comes with reflective stickers and a user guide. It is made in the USA with global components. Replacement sweatbands (KHHSWTBND), top pads (KHHTOPPAD), chin straps (KHHSTRP), suspensions (KHH6SPN), rechargeable headlamps (56062, KHH56308) and a turbo fan (60821) are sold separately.
