Overview
The Klein Tools Class C Type-2 Hard Hat, Vented Full Brim with Strap, Gray (60864T2) is a vented, full brim Type 2 hard hat. This is a vented head protection option designed for hot-weather construction and mechanical work away from live electrical. It pairs a gray, vented Class C shell with Klein's 6-point suspension and patented accessory mounts.
Type 2 coverage under ANSI Z89.1-2014 (R2019) HT-LT protects against side, front, back and top impacts, and the hat is tested for high and low temperatures. It is Class C, so keep it away from energized work; that is the price of a vented shell.
The vent layout puts openings on the top and both sides; the large side vents adjust so you control how much air moves through. The full brim style keeps sun off your face, ears and neck.
Comfort comes from the suspension and pads. Six points of contact with a pivoting ratchet adjust across hat sizes 6-1/2 to 8, and the padded lining wicks sweat, resists odor and goes in the washing machine. The included 4-point chin strap is padded and detachable, so you use it when the work calls for it.
For accessories, the hat has Klein's patented strap-free mounts plus universal slots on the front, back and both sides. Klein lists the KHH56308, 56048, 56062 and 56414 rechargeable headlamps and the 56063 safety lamp as compatible, sold separately.
Gray gives supervisors and inspectors a vented hat in a lower-key color. The vents, suspension and accessory mounts match Klein's other vented Class C full brim hats. The hat weighs 2 lb (907 g) as listed by Klein. Who should buy it: supervisors and inspectors walking hot jobsites who want a gray vented hat.

Pro Tip
Pull the top pad and sweatband and run them through the wash after a stretch of hot days. Clean pads wick better, and on a vented hat that is half the comfort.
