The Klein Tools Class C Type-2 Hard Hat, Vented Full Brim with Strap, Blue (60871T2) is a vented, full brim Type 2 hard hat. This is a breathable full brim safety helmet designed for crews working in heat without energized conductors nearby. It pairs a blue, vented Class C shell with Klein's 6-point suspension and patented accessory mounts.

Klein rates it Type 2 under ANSI Z89.1-2014 (R2019) with the HT-LT high- and low-temperature marking. Type 2 matters if you work around swinging loads, ladders and overhead obstructions where hits come from the side. As a Class C hat, it is not rated for electrical work.

Heat is where vented hats pay off. Top and side vents keep air moving over your head, and the big side vents adjust to the weather. Add the full brim for shade and rain runoff, and this is a hat built for summer.

Fit and comfort: the 6-point suspension uses a ratchet with pivot adjustment and fits hat sizes 6-1/2 to 8. Six contact points spread the load and leave room for air to move, and the padded, sweat-wicking, odor-resistant sweatband and top pad are machine washable. A detachable 4-point padded chin strap is included for ladders, lifts and windy days.

The patented accessory mounts are the standout. A Klein headlamp clips on with no strap around the shell, so it does not slip or block vents and labels. Compatible lights per Klein: rechargeable headlamps KHH56308, 56048, 56062 and 56414, and the 56063 safety lamp, all sold separately. Universal slots on the front, back and both sides handle the rest of your add-ons.

Blue on a vented shell suits crews that color-code roles and work in hot conditions. It is the same vented Class C full brim build as Klein's other vented colors. The hat weighs 2 lb (907 g) as listed by Klein. Who should buy it: mechanical, plumbing and general trades in hot conditions who want a blue vented hat.
