Overview
The Klein Tools Compact Wireless Inspection Camera (ET30) puts a camera where you cannot put your eyes. This is a Wi-Fi inspection camera designed for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, aircraft and home inspection work: looking inside wall cavities, ceilings, ductwork, pipes and equipment before you cut, drill or pull. Klein model ET30 sends 1080p images and video to your phone through a single app.
Image quality is where cheap scopes fall down, and Klein addresses it directly. The 1080p camera auto-focuses for sharp visuals, digital zoom is available, and always-up viewing keeps the image oriented correctly regardless of how the head rotates on a rod or cable. Four LED lights surround the lens for low-light cavities.
Size is the other big deal. The camera body is about 3-5/8" long (9.1 cm) with a 15/16" (2.4 cm) head, and Klein says it fits into 1-1/8" holes without a collar and 1-1/2" holes when using attachments. It weighs 1.2 oz (34 g). Because it is wireless, there is no tethered screen or cable to snake back through the hole.
Reach comes from your existing tools. The ET30 is compatible with all Klein Tools fish rods and includes threaded adapters to fit other brands. Included attachments (mirror, magnet, hook, four thread adapters and a flex rod) turn the camera into a retrieval and wire-pulling aid: grab a dropped screw with the magnet, hook a pull string, or check around a corner with the mirror.
It runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery rated for 1.2 hours, charged by the included USB-C cable, with auto power-off. Data logging and recording are supported, and the IP67 rating handles damp crawlspaces and wet locations. It conforms to UL 62368-1 and is certified to CSA C22.2 No. 62368-1. A case is included.
Who should buy it: electricians fishing walls and ceilings, HVAC and plumbing techs checking ducts and drains, and home inspectors who need clear images they can share with a client.
