A 12V max CXT 3-3/8-inch saw covers trim.
What to Look For
- Sidewinder or rear handle. Rear handle saws give framers reach and control on long rips. Sidewinders are lighter.
- Blade size. 7-1/4 inch handles 2x stock. 10-1/4 inch cuts thicker beams and timbers.
- Corded or cordless. Corded saws suit shop use with power at hand. Cordless saws match your battery platform.
- Brake. The 5007MGA adds an electric brake.

Makita Circular Saws FAQ
X2 LXT or XGT for a cordless 7-1/4-inch saw?
If you already own 18V LXT batteries, an X2 saw like the XSH06 or XSR01 uses two of them. If you are building around 40V max XGT, the GSH01 and GSR01 run on one XGT battery.
