Masonry Drill Bits for Brick, Block, and Concrete
Masonry drill bits have carbide tips that chip through brick, block, mortar, and concrete for anchors and fasteners. This collection covers DeWALT premium percussion sets and impact ready bits, Makita carbide tipped percussion hammer drill bits, Bosch Fast Spiral rotary bits and flat shank hex bits in bulk 5 and 25-packs, and Avanti bits. Festool offers a masonry bit set and PDC bits for its PDC hammer drill.
What to Look For
- Drill type. Percussion bits are made for hammer drills. Impact ready bits have hex shanks for impact drivers.
- Shank. Round shanks go in a keyed or keyless chuck. Hex shanks lock into quick-change holders.
- Length. Pick a length that clears the material plus the full anchor depth.
- Bulk packs. Bosch 25-packs suit crews setting a lot of concrete screws.

Drill Bits - Masonry FAQ
Masonry bits or SDS bits?
Round and hex shank masonry bits fit hammer drills and handle brick, block, and light concrete. For frequent or larger holes in poured concrete, a rotary hammer with SDS bits drills faster.
Why does my masonry bit stop cutting?
Usually heat or a dull tip. Back the bit out often to clear dust, avoid forcing it, and replace bits once the carbide edge rounds over.
