How is this different than the Festool 55?

There are many reviews comparing Festool, Makita and Dewalt track saws. Some are biased because of the reviewer's affiliation with a particular brand. The Makita is a very good saw and comparable to the Festool is most ways. The Makita does not have an outboard splinterguard like the Festool, which prevents tear out on the off-cut side, nor does it have a riving knife which is an added benefit to prevent kickbacks. I would say the dust extraction on the Makita, while very good, is not quite as good as the Festool. Lastly, Festool offers a wider range of blades, rails and accessories for their saws. Obviously, the Makita is a less expensive alternative to the Festool. If you'd prefer the Festool saw, we do offer those as well on our website festoolproducts.com.
