The verdict is out on Milwaukee’s new Hexon heated jacket line. Let’s see what Doug and David have to say about using the new M12 Heated Gear Power Source, Hexon heated gear models, and the new power source app.

If you enjoy smart technology and efficiency, then this new portable power source and app are for you! The new Milwaukee 48-11-2330 Heated Gear Power Source with App Control is designed flat to make wearing the pack more comfortable. It can be used with both the new Hexon heated gear series and the previous and current models of heated gear like Axis and Toughshell.

One important note is that while the power source does work on previous models outside of the Hexon series, the app does not. So if you want to take advantage of the app, make sure you grab the Hexon series gear.

Another important note here is that if you want to upgrade your gear to the Hexon models, you have to purchase the flatpack power source separately, and you can't use the old module with the new Hexon gear. You will have to upgrade that old module to be able to use it.

Now the sizing is a little different between the Hexon series and previous models, so be sure to check out the sizing guide on all heated gear on our Tool Nut website before you purchase.

The app offers features like zone control, temperature control, and other custom settings that you can save as favorites for easy and quick setup as soon as you throw on that gear. Hexon models take about two minutes or less to heat up, so you’re ready to face the cold faster.

If you aren’t interested in messing with the app, the great news is that you can use the Hexon series gear without the app if you prefer, you just won’t have the ability to customize your heat settings.

Overall, Doug and David agree that the new Hexon series, M12 Heated Gear Power Source, and App offer great features and upgrades over previous models.
